A consolidation loans are also easier to handle, as you only make one payment a month, so you do not have to worry about forgetting about a payment and end up paying late fees.

The easiest consolidation loan to take and also the cheapest is the home equity loan. You get it once you put your house or apartment as collateral. Another name for this loan is secured debt consolidation loan. This loan is cheap and easy to get, but you have to remember that you may lose your house if you do not pay back your loan on time. There is also an option of getting so called unsecured debt consolidation loan. In this case you do not provide any collateral, however the interest rate is much higher and the term of payment are much stricter than those of a secured debt consolidation loan.
